Organic Foods: Healthier Eating in Ottawa

This software was a group assignment. Our target audiences were families and individuals who want to eat better, and health professionals such as Dieticians. Included in the software is a calendar displaying when local foods are available throughout the year, a database driven interactive map with Ottawa area Organic restaurants/markets/farms, videos, QTVRs, and lots of information about Organic products, their availability, and benefits. The project also included custom disc labling, packaging, promotional posters and desktop backgrounds.

From this screen users can access a Glossary of Organic definitions and information, videos featuring Organic farmers and a Nutritionist, wallpapers for their computer's desktop, and QTVRs of some Organic locations..

The user can select local fruits and vegetables available in the Ottawa area from the list. The dark green areas on the calendar show when that fruit or vegetable is available locally.

Using these Recipes the user can prepare an entire meal made with Organic foods.


Dr. J's Safety Dictionary

This software was a group assignment. Our target audience was industry professionals who needed immediate access to workplace safety information. Included in the software is an alphabetical list of common terms used in workplace safety (ie. MSDS, respirator, WHMIS). Each term includes a definition, an audible pronounciation, and where possible an image, video, QTVR, and/or animation. The project also included custom disc labling and packaging.

The home page features a link to a video tutorial explaining the features of the software.

Users can click on a letter in the alphabet at the top of the interface to find the subject they are looking for quickly.

For this definition there is are buttons to the left allowing the user to hear an audible pronounciation, and access the videos.

Note that every page includes access to the alphabet, the Home page, Audio adjustments and the Exit button.
